Choosing a school is a big decision. Of course, practical things matter. Location matters. Fees matter. Reputation and academic track record matter too. But there is another question that can be harder to answer: does this feel like a community where my child and my family will belong?

At Horizon, that question matters deeply to us. Our approach can be summed up in 3 simple ideas: everyone counts, everyone contributes and everyone succeeds.

Everyone counts

For us, this starts with belonging. When your child joins Horizon, they become part of a community where they are known, valued and supported. And when your child joins, your family joins too. That sense of connection has been part of Horizon from the beginning. In 1989, Horizon English School opened in a villa in Jumeirah with just 12 students. The school has grown considerably since then, but the importance of knowing people well and making every member of the community feel they belong has remained. As we bring Horizon to Town Square, we want to create that same feeling from day one: a school at the heart of its community, shaped by the families who are part of it.

Everyone contributes

Strong communities are not created by one person or one team. They grow when people take part. Students bring their ideas, energy and curiosity. Teachers bring their knowledge, care and ambition. Families bring their experiences, perspectives and voices. We want parents to feel involved in school life. We want to see families at events, hear their ideas and create opportunities for them to connect with one another. And there is something particularly exciting about joining a new school community. Founding families will not simply arrive at Horizon Town Square. They will help shape its traditions, its relationships and the kind of community it becomes. Everyone has something to offer.

Everyone succeeds

Success will not look exactly the same for every student. Nor should it. For one child, success might be achieving an ambitious academic goal. For another, it might be finding the confidence to speak up, discovering a new passion or learning how to respond when something does not go to plan. Our role is to understand each student, challenge them appropriately and give them the support they need to keep growing. Academic achievement matters. So do confidence, character, wellbeing and the ability to build strong relationships with others. We want students to leave Horizon ready for what comes next, with the knowledge and qualifications they need, but also with a strong sense of who they are and what they can contribute.

Choose the people, not just the place

Every school can tell you about its values. You really understand them through the people you meet. You see them in the way a teacher welcomes your child. In the conversations you have with school leaders. In how the front-of-house and site teams make families feel. In the relationships between parents. And, most importantly, in the way students treat one another.

So when you are choosing a school, look beyond the buildings, brochures and results. Choose the people you want alongside your child as they grow. Choose a community where they will count, contribute and succeed.
