A Journey of Growth from Early Years to Sixth Form

At Horizon English School Town Square, our curriculum follows the National Curriculum for England, providing a clear and inspiring journey from the Early Years Foundation Stage through to post 16 qualification pathways.

Our approach to teaching and learning balances academic challenge with creativity, wellbeing and personal growth. At every stage, our students are supported to develop curiosity, confidence and character, the skills that will help them to flourish.

Early Years

In our Early Years, learning is driven by adventure. Children explore, imagine and learn through hands-on experiences rooted in high quality play and interactions in a beautiful environment.

Our purpose-built spaces encourage collaboration and creativity, giving every child the chance to follow their interests, take risks in their learning and develop independence from the very start.

Primary School

The Primary phase builds on the strong foundations of the Early Years and introduces a broad and balanced curriculum that nurtures curiosity, collaboration and critical thinking.

In Year 1 and Year 2, children develop the fundamentals of reading, writing and maths that provide the springboard for academic success. The curriculum is enriched through exploration of science, the arts and the world around them.

In Years 3 to 6, children become deep thinkers through a broad curriculum. They study core subjects of English, Mathematics, Science and MSC (Moral, social and cultural studies) alongside specialist taught subjects such as Arabic, Islamic Education (for Muslim students), French, Art and Design, Music, Computing, PE and Swimming.

Enrichment opportunities such as trips, performances, leadership and service projects help students apply their learning, build character and prepare for the transition into Senior School.

Senior School

Our Senior School curriculum challenges students to think critically, act responsibly and lead confidently. Through specialist teaching, students gain the knowledge, skills and self-awareness needed to succeed in higher education and beyond. This stage encourages independence and reflection, supporting students to identify their strengths and interests as they begin to plan their future career and study pathways.

In Year 7 and Year 8, our broad curriculum enables discovery what the future holds for students. Students develop deeper understanding in core disciplines including English, Mathematics, Science, Arabic and MSC, while exploring the humanities, languages, digital and applied learning in the form of History, Geography, Design Technology, Drama, Art, Computing and PE.

In Years 9 to 11, our curriculum offer prioritises depth of study. Students prepare for their GCSE examinations, choosing from a wide range of subject options that allow them to tailor their education to their goals and passions. The programme is rigorous yet supportive, combining high academic expectations with strong pastoral care to help every student achieve personal success and readiness for post 16 study.

Sixth Form

The Sixth Form is where students specialise their study in preparation for their career and further study aspirations. The academic pathway offers a wide range of A Levels tailored to entry requirements at top universities for multiple career paths. The professional pathway offers BTECs equivalent to 3 A Levels for students to specialise for the world of work or further study. The hybrid pathway enables students to combine A Levels and BTECs to find the right balance for their career and study aspirations.

Students receive personalised guidance to design a programme that matches their ambitions, whether they aim for university, creative industries, entrepreneurship or global careers.

Beyond academics, our Sixth Form fosters leadership, service and personal growth. Students are encouraged to take initiative, contribute to the community and develop the confidence to shape their own futures.
